About Us
Local 7603 has been active for more than 67 years. Our charter was 1st assigned as Local 301 on January 1, 1944 under Telephone Traffic Workers (Operators). The 2nd charter was assigned Local 17-3 on November 14th, 1947 with Communications Workers of America, CIO. The 3rd charter was assigned Local 8103 on February 5, 1951 when the AFL and CIO combined nationally. Our 4th charter was assigned Communications Workers of America, District 7, Local 7603, AFL-CIO in 1986.
Local 7603 currently represents workers at AT&T, AT&T Mobility, Avaya, Idaho Statesman and Qwest/CenturyLink. Our local jurisdictional boundaries include the counties of Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Payette, Owyhee, and Washington in Idaho, and Malheur in Oregon.
Local 7603 believes in fair pay and fair treatment for a day’s work. We believe everyone deserves a fair chance or a second chance. At some time every employee needs special help. We are here to provide that assistance. We are here to maintain and grow our membership. We are the people who built these companies and this great country. We believe in the American family. We support politicians who support labor, no matter their political party affiliation.
